This September, members are invited to join us for an evening of the history of partnering in ballet, as well as a glimpse of what’s to come.
Interim Artistic Director Patric Palkens will announce Chamber Dance Project’s 2026/2027 season, followed by a demonstration and introductory exploring the art of ballet partnering.
Partnering in ballet has evolved dramatically over the centuries. What began as distant, courtly processions during the Renaissance developed into the intimate and highly technical pas de deux of the 19th and 20th centuries. Today, partnering is a conversation between dancers, built on trust, timing, communication, and connection.
