ON THE EDGE: New Year, New Works

2 pm Matinee with a 20-minute onstage workshop for people of all ages to follow

7:30 pm with pre-show talk with choreographer Christian Denice about his new work followed by a post-show reception. 

Get ready to kick off the new year with a spectacular blend of artistic innovation and breathtaking performances as Chamber Dance Project proudly presents “ON THE EDGE: New Year, New Works” on January 6, 2024, at the prestigious Arena Stage.

Audiences will get a preview of the new ballets in the works for our 2024 June Season and a new perspective on our most iconic repertoire works, Journey, Dwellings, and Sur. Choreographer Christian Denice will lead an insightful discussion with the audience, providing a unique opportunity to delve into his creative process of the making of “Book of Stones,” a groundbreaking new ballet collaboration between Chamber Dance Project and the Tony Award-winning Red Clay Ramblers.

“ON THE EDGE: New Year, New Works” promises to be an exhilarating start to the year by pushing the boundaries of contemporary ballet.

PARKING AND TRANSPORTATION

Mead Center Parking The entrance to the parking garage is accessible from the northbound lane of Maine Avenue. Single ticket purchasers may reserve in advance for $30 per parking space. Advance reservations and rates discontinue three hours prior to curtain. Any parking available on the day of the performance will be sold at the garage on a first-come, first-served basis for $27. Accessibility parking may also be purchased in advance with a copy of a valid handicap parking tag. The garage is open from 10 a.m. until one hour after the end of the performance. 

L’Enfant Plaza Parking

L’Enfant Plaza provides ample parking (1,400 spaces), is just a few blocks from the Southwest Waterfront and less than one mile from Arena Stage. 

Colonial Parking
Located just off Maine Avenue SW one block south from the Municipal Fish Market.

Street Parking
Street parking is scarce around Arena Stage. Please allow yourself extra time if you plan to park on the streets. Please read signage carefully and observe parking restrictions. Arena Stage is not responsible for the condition of parking meters on neighborhood streets. Street parking is free on federal holidays.

Metro Rail
The Waterfront station, on the Green line, is located one block east of Arena Stage at 4th and M Streets SW. 

Metrobuses
Stops are located directly in front of the theater as well as across from and slightly north of the theater entrance
