Immerse yourself in the thrill of live performance with Chamber Dance Project, Washington’s premier contemporary ballet company, as we return to Arena Stage’s Fichandler Theatre on January 10, 2026. In this rare, in-the-round setting, the boundaries between stage and audience dissolve—every seat places you just steps away from dancers, musicians, and the creative energy of live performance.

Experience the program’s blend of power and playfulness. Journey, a moving pas de deux with Samuel Barber’s iconic Adagio, captures the tenderness and complexity of a relationship. Time Has Come, set to music by Telemann and Scarlatti, returns with its wit, energy, and joyous excerpts. The evening features the world premiere of Testimony, choreographed by Christian Denise with a score by Grammy Award–winning composer Charlton Singleton, based on Gullah tradition and a solo by our resident violist, Jerome Gordon. Exit Wounds, a physically and emotionally charged male duet, set to the music of Benjamin Britten rounds out the program.

With dancers from leading American ballet companies performing with our string quartet, In the Round delivers a rare, immersive experience where no audience member is more than a few rows from the stage. Reserve your seats now for an unforgettable evening of daring dance, live music, and close-up connection with the artists.

Matinee Workshop. In this interactive workshop, audience members will have the unique opportunity to work alongside our dancers and choreographers, learning a segment of one of the works and experiencing the artistry from the inside out.

Pre-performance artist chat at 6:30: Meet the dancers, musicians, and choreographers in the upper lobby before the show for an engaging discussion—free for all ticket holders.
